DroidDream

Security researchers today pulled more than 20 apps from Android Market after they were found to have been infected with the DroidDream malware. Analysis of the DroidDream malware suggests that it can gather sensitive data like a mobile device's IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number and user ID, break out of Android's application security sandbox and download additional code.

It is certainly a wake up call for mobile security

  1. I always thought that Android is a secure mobile but as DroidDream malware can fetch device IMEI and user id then anyone can misuse this data. That really strikes in mind that its very odd to be associated with such a brand name.

  2. I've used AVG protection for a few years now, and I would recommend this Anti-virus to all you.
